Novel – Mad World

novel

Here goes a new track from Novel, “Mad World”, I’ll let him explain..

So I saw the footage on Oscar grant like the rest of the world and was sadden and shocked by the tragic event that occurred.

If you dont know, Oscar Grant was a unarmed young black male shot in the back by an Oakland Police officer. This song is dedicated to him and his family and anyone who lost someone. This is my take on Gary Jules “Mad World”. I hope this doesn’t offend anyone in anyway for that is not my intention.

    Fully in suport of the sentiment here but Gary Jules??!!! “Mad World” was actually written and first performed by Tears for Fears.

    @ian, i had the same thought, but actually Novel reinterprets/samples Gary Jules’ version of Mad world. hence the piano.

    @Mintsavvy.com:

    Maybe so, but it’s still not his song. Hate to nitpick but that’s just misleading. He could have said ‘My take on Gary Jules’ interpretation of Tears for Fears’ “Mad World”‘ or something to that effect.

    here’s my interpretation of reggie noble’s WHATEVA MAN, who cares if it’s originally Cameo, it’s a dope track, a much needed message, and he gave props to the sample. we need this right now!!! keep it up Nov! these pigs better not get away wit this like they did with Sean Bell…

    @watercoloroncanvas:

    I’m fully in support of this remake and I’m not trying to quibble but this is not a sample, it’s a cover of a song written by Tear for Fears, not Gary Jules. Your argument does not apply here.

    uh, yeah, at any rate, this is a dope track, a much needed message…keep it up Nov!!
