Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme was given a 5-year $42 million contract extension yesterday, which equates to one year for every pick he threw in the playoffs last season. The contract includes $20 million in guaranteed money. A few highlight tapes after the jump…

LOL… No offense though. Everybody can have a bad day.

Delhomme is a decent quarterback but Coach John Fox is going to end up losing his job because of Delhomme.

i fought for jake for a while but the superbowl loss was in the ‘04 season. its time to move on. seriously the front office has been very passive in addressing this issue. true we had david carr for a mintute, but who is next. jake needs to be threatened at least. can we get an understudy. gravytrain is righ, fox will get canned due jake’s poor play. but he shouldnt be the only one. the entire front office should fall on their swords

BIG MISTAKE!!! By the time Jake is in the middle of this deal he will be about 75 years old. I wonder if Carolina will be rebuilding by then or will they still be a contender? I think rebuilding.
