After speaking to Allhiphop earlier this week, former drug trafficker “Freeway” Ricky Ross expresses some additional thoughts via his official blog.
There are a lot of things going on right now with the rapper that stole my identity. It’s been tough on me because part of me whats to jump on him and beat him in the ground for being so arrogant and disrespectful, and then there is another part that said judge another brother that the system has made a clown out of. Build him up and now they are going to let him be turned down. I know that Def Jam is probably going to abandon him now, just another puppet, and they start to look for another to replace him. What people need to do is look at the root, because Def Jam is just as responsible as he is. Now you know they did a back ground check, but they don’t care what they feed our kids as long as they get their dollars. When will we wake up America and learn that there are more important things than the all mighty dollar? It took me going to prison to wake up. Is it going to take us to lose our country? Because America is definitely falling. Just about everybody I talk to tells me how hard it is in almost every industry. I don’t know, maybe I am confused. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE THIS THING OUT!!!

“After seeing all the stuff that has been going on with the Correctional Officer (William Roberts) that stole my name, [it] makes me think back to a year and a half ago when we spoke,” Ross explained to AllHipHop.com. “I tried to talk to him like a big brother and let him know to be you, and that he couldn’t be me. And that if he wanted to rap the lifestyle that he couldn’t frame it based on my life.”
“How different his life would have been if he would have taken my advice,” Ross reflected. “You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time.”
In the early and mid 80’s, Ross controlled most of the Los Angeles drug trade, and had ties to the Iran-Contra scandal due to his suppliers.
In 1996 Ross was sentenced to life in prison for attempting to purchase over 100 kilos from a federal agent.
He successfully appealed and had his sentence reduced to 20 years.
Ross is scheduled to be released on August 13, 2010.
word Rick it shouldn’t take jail to start a war…thats what it is tho…every great leader has to sustain a level of incarseration to become a great leader. for example General Rigaud, Hitler, Saddam. These leaders all got locked up came home and made the world what it is today, not hip hop, what we call hip hop now right now is blinding the youth of what a real leader a “Boss” is. Rick Ross (the rapper) is a fake because he had a job and went to school an paid taxes and all this other stuff that people who may have never done anything wrong in their entire life is telling the people he is a fraud, lets see, if you have a job does that mean you cannot commit a crime, that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard, he was a C.O, so he cant be street, most fo the C.O’s I know are hood dudes, how do you think people get the Cell Phones, Money, Contraband, you name it, they get it from the C.O., so all that stuff about him not being hood because he ahd a job is dumb as hell, and if you ever been to jail dont speak on the officers, they are not trying to prevent crime, they just trying to get some money and work 16 hour days, it is stupid to say he was a C.O. so he could not possibly be a thug kingpin, that would make it actually easier for him, and guess what if he did do a favor for Noriega than he might owe him a favor, he was locked up in Florida, hearing kingpins talk and all that it is pretty easy to get in the life, if you have access to the people that he did, think about Haitian gangsters, Cubans, Mexicans, the Brothers, White Power dudes, they are all in there and he could have favors from all of them, just for passing a note, bringing in cigarettes, giving them a phone, cd player, whartever, McDonalds, you have no idea how easy it is for a C.O. to become that dude, just from going to work, and than one day just quit, no explanation, go to the hood or wherever and get it poppin
